Easy BreezyIsn't this adorable? This layout is my team's entry for the It Takes 2 Collaboration, featuring artwork by Naru Nanao from the series Rainbow-colored IceCream. It was designed by Thao-kun of Cat Heros; didn't it turn out fabulously? We were a little stuck at first and didn't really know what we were going to do, and it wasn't made any easier by the fact that she lives on the opposite side of the country from me, but I'm very happy with the result. Well, minus the fact that I wanted to tear out my hair because I can't get the divs to sit where I want in IE7, haha. But I think it still looks awesome, and I like that you can see more of the stripes now than how it was before.About the LayoutOkay. This is a nice table layout that will make you crazy if you accidentally screw up the navigation or anything. So, to try to help prevent insanity, I've included lots of comments that will help you when you edit. Just about everything is encased in a div: Each link is in its own div, and all the link-divs are contained within another div [the one with a border]. Additionally the content divs were given classes so you can use more than one of them. Normally I probably wouldn't have bothered with divs for the content, since the content area has that cute little border, but since there are vertical stripes, I figured it would be less strain on the eyes to try and read horizontally against vertical. Ummmm what else. Oh. Both side navigations have their own classes because the one on the right is slightly more narrow than the one on the left. This layout was tested in IE7, FF2, and Opera. Its HTML and CSS are both valid. I was going to use image maps on the footer in case the credits were accidentally lost, but I figured you could always google Kokunkokun to find my site, or Cat Heros [just like that, it's not a typo] and follow the second result link [not counting the NBC link to the show Heroes]. The .zip FileWhen you download the zip file, you'll find the image files and the HTML file that contains the coding and comments to help you edit what you can edit and what you can't. Also you'll find the avatar and button that I made. However, if you prefer the avatar and button that Thao-kun made, the images are direct-linked in the coding to her Photobucket account; if you'd like to use them, please save them to your own server. Please keep the credits intact and feel free to contact me with any questions or comments at kokunkokun@gmail.com. ♥ KateExtras ![]() |
